June 24: Scholarship Dinner, 5:30 p.m.
Ongoing: Fund Raising campaign for Summer Camps. Shaw Community Ministry is receiving donations to send boys and girls to Camp Letts and Camp Friendship, two summer camps located a few hours outside of Washington that have proved to be positive experiences for our children and youth who have attended during past years. It costs roughly $1,200 for two weeks at Camp Letts, which is the preferred camp site for many of the youth. Children and youth can spend a week at Camp Friendship for about $850. Shaw also works with organizations to provide day camp experiences for children and youth. Any contribution you can give will help us make these very meaningful experiences available to children and youth who otherwise rarely leave the neighborhoods in which they live. SCM hopes to begin sending children and youth to camps starting July 6.
